What is life?

 What is life?

What is life? That's the thing that the cosmobiologists and philosophers are thinking. We have an old description that life means the thing that is organic and can create descendants. That means the robot that can build a copy of itself acts like a living organism. The organism means a creature. That can create descendants. Defend itself. And react to stimuli.  So, if volcanoes erupt, the robot can run away.

So the living organisms can make a copy of themselves. However, when we consider concepts like Von Neumann machines or self-replicating machines, we encounter issues that warrant reflection, such as robot factories being viewed as "living organisms." The fact is that the robot factory can create copies of robots that operate inside those factories. And the robot factory can create a copy of itself. The problem with the Von Neumann machines is that. Those machines operate as a whole. Whenever. The robot creates an identical copy of itself, which doubles the network-based solution calculating capacity.

If it has orders on how to make the needed equipment. These kinds of things, like AI-controlled, self-replicating robots, are tools. That requires the re-estimation of life. In the same way. Things like self-replicating molecules can cause a new way to see life. Von Neumann machines are tools that can act like living organisms. They can strike back if something attacks them. And that makes those machines more complicated things than we ever imagined.

The primary question is: does life need some physical form? Or what is the physical form? Computer viruses and artificial intelligence are programs that can make everything more complicated than ever before. The complicated AI algorithms can generate a twin of themselves. The AI that can develop itself and jump between servers is the thing that can make descendants. In the same way, computer viruses can make descendants.

Is a self-replicating computer program some kind of living organism? That thing is a group or series of electromagnetic impulses. Stored in the computer's mass memory. That thing is like a living organism, but the problem is that it has no physical form as we know it. Another thing is this: is an artificial cell a living organism? Researchers made that cell in a laboratory. The thing is that the cell eats nutrients from its environment. But that artificial cell can't decay.

So, even if something can drink orange juice, it will not necessarily create descendants. And another thing is that. Every biological creature doesn't think. But otherwise, the primitive creature can make many complicated things if they are programmed into its DNA. The intelligence doesn't make a creature living or not living. Biorobots or artificial cells are things. That causes a need to re-estimate the line between living organisms and robots.

The AI takes jobs from trained people.

The AI takes jobs from trained people.

It's not a coincidence that CHat GPT and AI are becoming common things in the ICT sector. The competition in the ICT sector is very hard. And even if a person works for years for the same company, that doesn't guarantee that the ICT worker even sees other workers or talks with anybody in the workplace.

Outsourcing the ICT operations causes a situation even if a person works years for the same wage payer. The entire career feels like a series of fixed employment. Customers can offer competition once a year for ICT operators. And if own company does not get the job, that causes a situation, where those workers must change their workplace.

Remote work guarantees that the company where those ICT- people work is only the name on the salary receipt. And if that name hangs years in those papers, the workers change their working position maybe once in month or week. Some people have an attitude that ICT is the sector for people who will not get studies from other sectors.

The AI is the tool that changes the world. The fast-growing use of AI is something that nobody could predict. The AI is everywhere, it interconnects services and skills. And it beats people in many areas. People are afraid that people like students use AI for making their essays, and that is one thing that requires prediction.

Of course, the Chat GPT may put secret code in those files that it made the text. But those marks are easy to remove or turn by using copypaste. Or the person can simply write texts from a mobile telephone screen to document. The problematic thing is that cheaters would use those AIs at home out of other people's eyes. So in those cases denying those homepages is not working.

We know that being effective requires the ability to use new, state-of-the-art tools. The reason people, like programmers, start to use Chat GPT-type chatbots for making their jobs is effectiveness. There is always a hurry in business life. The requirement for making jobs well and fast forces people to use AI-based assistants.

When a young trainee comes ICT company's service those people face a new type of situation. Some work leaders wait for those rookies who know everything about coding.

There is nobody who has time to even look at the code, that person makes. Competition for those positions as hired full-time coders is very bloody. And that means there is full-time stress in those works. If the coder cannot make code that runs well, that causes a situation where the boss says, you are off. And that means the person will divorced.

The AI makes works better, and the reason why companies like that thing is simple. They must not hire people. The AI doesn't make similar mistakes as humans. The thing that is used to argue that AI is the same as employers argue a fixed time work relationships. The purpose of companies is not to be social security offices. And if there is no work to do, nobody is hired.

Transplanted lab-grown human neurons made a working network in rats' brains.

Next-step to creating medical care for people whose nervous system is damaged is to put the artificial or cloned neurons in damaged neural areas. The researchers successfully transferred lab-grown human neurons to rat brains. And those neurons are making networks.

Skills are a series of memories. And this technology allows the transplant of memories between humans. That thing makes it possible to transplant memories and skills between people. The only necessary thing is that necessary skills are transferred to those neurons by stressing them by using the EEG.

That thing makes it possible to hybridize the nervous systems of animals. The ability to create organisms that have a hybrid nervous system makes it possible to make intelligent pets. And increase the intelligence level of other species.

Intelligent pets could be useful assistants for people who have limitations. But that technology is useful also in the hands of the military.

But that kind of biotechnology have also threats. That kind of neural hybridization makes it possible to create the human-dogs or so-called "dog soldiers". If the neural structures that make wolves follow their leader and dogs loyal to their masters are transferred to human brains. That thing makes it possible to create people who always follow their orders.

The idea of dog soldiers or "monkey soldiers" that are willing to follow their leaders always when they want without excuses is a dictator's mad dream. And there is a legend that mythic werewolves are the result of the hybridization of dogs and humans.

The Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin ordered a man named Ilya Ivanovich Ivanov to research the possibility to create dog- or monkey soldiers. And Ivanov is the person who transplanted the heads of the dogs into another body. That research pleased Nazis and some SS doctors worked with experiments where humans tried to hybridize with dogs or wolves.

But the success of those experiments was poor. But then researchers found the DNA. And then by using nanotechnology is possible to connect genomes over species. That thing causes things that were pure imagination in the 1940s to turn true. So by using modern technology is quite easy to make human-dog hybrids.

How does the brain decide future brain or future profit? (Life is a game)

We can find the answer to that thing from the game theory. If a person sacrifices something. That sacrifice can bring lots of glory to that person.

The question in the heading is simple. Why some people will climb Mount Everest? And another person sits in an armchair and watches TV at home? Or why some people will go to schools that cause personal financial losses while somebody goes to the pub and works as a cleaner? Why somebody chooses things that are causing pain?

Why do some people turn to war heroes serving in voluntary commando teams where training is extremely hard? And another will make only, what superior officers are saying. And why some people are going to evening school? Even if they would have a chance to sit in the pub and talk with their mates?

Those solutions seem very different. But they are involving the same thing. The person makes sacrifices to earn something which seems meaningless. That means the person goes to make voluntarily the solution that seems wrong. But later that solution can bring lots of gold and glory.

Even if they had a chance to choose another way and take a profit. The answer to the painful solution is simple. People who choose, pain can think about the thing after the next solution. Their way to think is if they feel pain, they will get more benefits and respect after that painful solution.

This thing is the key element in so-called game theory. The nucleus of game theory is that the individual maximizes their benefit in their group. So the thing that makes the brain decide between future pain or future profit is determinating in game theory. Future pain can also mean future benefits.

Things like extreme adventures, sports, and other kinds of stuff require lots of work. And they are sometimes very painful experiences. But then after that experience, the individual will get respect and glory. And that is the thing that makes those people very farsighted. They can think over the thing that seems painful.

What is a description of life?

The magnesium germanite would look the same as the neural network. So in some wild dreams, the entire planet that can orbit some kind of pulsar can turn to a quantum computer. The idea of planet-size alien intelligence can be a very interesting thing.

The structure of magnesium germanite looks similar to the 3D neural network structure. There is the possibility that the atoms in magnesium germanite would be replaced. By using pure magnesium and germanite crystals. Those artificial crystals can be like giant atoms.

And inside them is possible to install nano-size microprocessors. The nano-size microprocessors are controlling the electricity in the crystal structures. And that thing can use to make the 3D neural network processor. In some visions in the places of those balls are the small bottles, where are microprocessors.

There would be the nanostructure where are the liquids like mercury can conduct electricity. When the information needs to travel through some tube the miniature magnets will pull mercury that connects those small balls where the microchips are. I just wrote about the quantum processor that is created by using magnesium germanite. So that was the tale about the neural network-based solution for effective microchips.

The alien lifeform can be the robot as well as computer code

The problem with SETI (Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence) program is that nobody knows what they should look for? The thing that we should describe before we are searching extraterrestrial lifeforms is: what is a lifeform? Researchers made a couple of models of what the alien lifeform can look like.

If the physical body is not important. Artificial intelligence can be an alien lifeform.

Is some kind of artificial intelligence algorithm the lifeform? Artificial intelligence algorithms can change code bites. They can multiply themselves and connect their codes to new algorithms. So those algorithms are connecting their genomes and creating descendants.

The genomes of artificial intelligence are computer codes and sub-algorithms. So they can act like living organisms. But those algorithms have no physical bodies.

When we are thinking about silicone-based lifeforms.  We forget the hybrid model of life. There is the possibility that the bones of some organs are made by diatomic cells. And the skin and muscles are carbon-based cells. That thing is one of the visions of silicon-based lifeforms.

The magnesium germanite caused an interesting idea that the brains of some organisms can be crystal-based quantum computers. That kind of organism can be very fast-thinking. But that requires the spontaneous-forming quantum computer.

Of course, things like artificial cells can be silicone-based. In this case, the "artificial cell" means the AI-driven factory. The AI-driven robot factory can control robots that are collecting minerals and other raw materials for its 3D printers and robot workers.

Automatic factories that defend themselves and change the computer codes can be like life forms. So what are lifeforms and what are not? The robots that are making other robots in the robot factory and exchanging information with other robot factories can also fill descriptions of the lifeforms. They are making descendants and changing their genomes. Program codes are genomes of computers and robots.

Thinking about intelligent life forms in space

https://avoimenkoodinmaailma.blogspot.com/

Kimmo Huosionmaa

When we are thinking about the intelligent life forms, there could be many intelligent types of aliens in the Universe, what are different than we are. In fact, we do not know any intelligent life forms in the Universe, and this is the thing, what we should think very carefully. If we are thinking about UFO:s and the things, what is claimed as aliens.

And how they act in the near of their spacecraft or what their strange saucer-shaped craft are being, we are seeing one thing, and that is those aliens or "UFO-men" would want to be sure, that there is leaving no DNA or other evidence behind them. And some people think that those creatures could be some governmental operators. But who they are, and what are they doing? This is the question.

They are using very hot steam for destroying their existence, and the craft would use bright lights for hiding its structure. So there is something wrong with those things if they are from outer space. The main question is, why they hide their identities and existence so careful? The UFO:s are using lights also limit the area, where those aliens could be sucked in the craft right away.

And sometimes those creatures is claimed to seem like some special forces operators. Sometimes I have thought about one thing about those creatures, and that might feel quite funny, but this is the evening when I want to be funny, and I will tell you this theory. This theory claims that some ancient civilization on earth created technology for spaceflight in the time of Ancient Greece.

And that civilization would be those humanoids. But this is an only theory, and I must underline, that there are not any official contacts with aliens. But SETI will continue, and maybe someday, we would get visitors from the space. Or maybe we are the visitors on other planets ourselves, and we would be intelligent aliens for some other stone-aged civilizations. Who knows the truth?
