Why we afraid artificial intelligence and new killer-drones?

This is a writing about the paradoxes of war and militarism. The militarism and war are things, what is strictly out from normal people head, and there are many things, why is not very tolerated to speak about the military systems. One of them is that the national security is limiting the comments about those things. And when we are looking very sharply to the militarism and army, we are seeing that our religion has been against violence in 2000 years, and we still fight together by using weapons.

And even if we are against violence, many people are getting their salary from military forces their equipment, and the weapons industry around them. War is good business for the weapon dealers, who offers more and more lethal and advanced weapons, what suits for many missions. Also, support equipment like GPS systems is a very good article, because the owner of those satellites can cut the location signals of those weapons, and that's why they cannot use against the deliverer of GPS-system, and that ties the clients more effectively to the influence of another actor in the field of international politics and strategies. Strategies have always depended on the politics, and that's why the political support for weapon trade is extremely important.

We must say that using killer-drones would create the military, where doesn't serve a single man. But here we must know, that if there would be autonomous killer robots, what replaces the places of the military personnel, we would come to the situation, that there would be no work for the men, who serve in those military forces. And one of the first group. what would be lost their jobs, are the fighter pilots, who serve in the war against terrorism. Those missions can be done by using drones, what just fly to the target, and then drop their weapons.

The human's advantage in comparing with robots is that human would make surprising movements for those aircraft. And that's why human pilots still win the drones, and this is the thing, what keeps those pilots in the cockpits. When we are thinking that the use of missiles and drones is somehow cowardly action, we must say, that the leaders of the terrorist organizations and military forces would not be in any danger in those operations. If some Tornado or Sukhoi-pilot would drop the bombs from the high altitude like 10 000 meters, there would not have the single missile, what could harm that aircraft, if the opponent is some kind of Isis-terrorist.

The smart bombs, what have satellite guidance are extremely sharp, and in those operations, they could destroy targets very effectively.  The civilians are not suitable to comment those things, because that would be harmful to the reputation of military forces. If those pilots would be replaced with the artificial intelligence, there would not be heroes in another side, what is, of course, our side. But when we are going to speak about the fighters, we could act like some children at the sandbox, who are asking each other, whose car is the best?

In this case, when we are talking about multipurpose-fighter contracts, we can ask the question, what is the best, 4th,5th or 6th. generation fighter or multirole aircraft? And in this case, people have the right to talk, which one is the best, Super-Hornet, Gripen or SU-27? And if the writings have no influence or expertise, why those people would not have right to write about those things? Of course, somebody says, that I'm writing this for revenge because I didn't have promotion in the 100th. anniversary of the  Finnish defense forces, and that's why I' writing about this thing.  But people have right to their opinions.

There are always problems with new equipment.

F-35C Lightning II

The miscalculated operational range would danger F-35C fighter-program, says news bulletin from the U.S NAVY. The U.S NAVY:s new stealth fighter F-35C have a problem, that it's combat radius have been miscalculated. The problem with those calculations has been that the F-35C has the very powerful jet engine, what of course uses very much fuel, and that was made problematic for calculating the radius of that military aircraft. When some new equipment is taken in the service, there are always problems with them, and that means the problems can be solved, but this means that with those technical problems must be honest, and make work to find them. Only the problems, what is found can be solved, and as we know that engineering work is very systematic.

Almost every other systems have found problems when they are first taken in use, and one of the most well-known cases was when U.S NAVY F-14 "Tomcat"  got the computerized AWG-9 fire-control system for its AIM-54 "Phoenix" missile system, that aircraft turned upside down when it crossed the Equator. Here I must confess that I don't remember the type of the aircraft really sharp, because there have been over 20 years from that case. This situation caused, because of the programmer of the computer forget, that there would be the world after the Equator, and then that aircraft turned upside down.

This kind of mistakes are very common in the new systems, and that's why engineers have been hired by the military forces. Their mission is to find those errors and fix them. If the new system doesn't have any errors,  that would be suspicious. Errors, what is found are the mark that the system has been tested properly, and if some brand new system would not found errors, would that mean that there would not be followed the testing instructions and procedures. As we know, in the engineering work people don't just expect that some things are working perfectly.

Engineers make tests before they accept the conclusion, that the system works. And when we are talking about the combat system, we would say, that those systems are extremely mission-critical, and that's why they must work perfectly before they are going to act. The pilots would not want to see in the real situation above enemy terrain, that their multi-million dollar aircraft would not work, because that could lethal when the real enemy is facing those fighters.

Russia has a new fifth-generation fighter Su-57, what should be challenging the newest U.S fighters in the skies, if the war begins. And we know that Russian aircraft engineers cannot or doesn't want to mass-produce similar smooth surfaces, what is used in F-22 and F-36 fighters, and that surface is vital for high- speed STEALTH interceptors. And here we must realize that the making effective STEALTH technology is the little bit more difficult than in some movies. When somebody says that "old time" radars would answer for the threat of STEALTH, they would not realize that many of those "old time radars" are nowadays equipped with high power computerized support systems, what helps the crew to perceive the situation.

Also, modern anti-aircraft systems are using multi-sensor technology, and there are multi-frequency radar systems and optical sensors, what makes observations in infra-red and visual light frequencies, and also the Anti-aircraft artillery systems are equipped with infra-red cameras. The systems are also equipped with image recognition programs, what mission is to locate enemy aircraft. The newest anti-aircraft systems are actually the microwave walls, that means the targets are surrounded by the line of microwave transmitters s, what makes the wall around the target. That would be very effective against any aircraft in the world. Also, very powerful radars can be used to cause damages to enemy aircraft, and when about one-megawatt radio impulse strikes to the target, would that cause damages to all electronic equipment.

This is the new way to make military or anti-STEALTH equipment. The problem with STEALTH is that if some pilot would be rebellious there will be very difficult to stop that action if the in the plane is hired an explosive, could the launching code steal by the enemy, and that would cause the very bad situation. But when we are thinking about the problems with developing STEALTH-interceptors, we must say, that those aircraft are combined with materials and other technology, and making the smooth surfaces needs new type of materials and carbon fibers are in the key element in those new type of hybrid materials, what can be used to produce those forms, what makes ultra-fast STEALTH-interceptor possible.
