A tsunami of pessimism is ruling headlines.



Robots are many times causing negative feelings because negative things like robot weapons are ruling headlines. Most robots are not weapons. These robots are delivering food to customers in Espoo, Finland. 

Those robots should have a manipulator. If food delivery robots have flexible manipulator arms. This allows robots to push traffic-light buttons, open doors, and even use elevators. Or if the elevators and code-locks are equipped with remote control systems the robot can deliver food to upper floors. 

Pessimism or negative things are ruling headlines. There are been many predictions based on negative publicity. The most well-known case was "delete Facebook". And then all journalists repeated that mantra and again. 

Facebook is not the only social media application. And there are also many good things in this application. 

All social media applications are similar to Facebook. When something new is brought into the hands of people. The only thing that people first see is negative. 

When people are planning to use things like geothermal energy. That thing causes earthquakes. Same way things like taking oil and gas from the ground are creating earthquakes and falling the ground level. 

When wind generators are built the first thing that they cause is resistance. They destroy the horizon. And they are expensive. The writers are always forgetting that wind generators don't need fuel. 

Social media brought many things to the front of the public eye. Things like racism, cheating, and economical walls have risen in front of the eyes of regular people. 

Things like Artificial intelligence are seen only as things that are stealing works from humans. Did nobody ask what kind of jobs robots and AI are used for? Are they work where regular people want to get? 

When we are looking at things like drone swarms we must remember that without those systems Russia might already win in Ukraine. But the fact is that drone swarms can also search people and observe large areas. But the only remembered thing is their use as weapons. 

Connecting data from the surveillance cameras can use to track criminals from the streets. If the security cameras of shops are connected with street surveillance cameras, the system can take an image of them. And then the system can use face comparison to search where the thief goes. 

But the only thing remembered thing are the black people who are taken under search. Because the system has seen that they stole something. The question is how many black person police would check without those systems. 

When food delivery robots started their duties there was news that the student who sat in a wheelchair didn't get access over the road, because that robot didn't dodge that student. The interesting thing is that this case was not a typical incident. Mostly those robots are doing their work very well. 

There is one interesting error in those robots. They cannot push buttons like traffic light buttons. So if those robots have a system that pushes traffic light buttons, or even elevator buttons, that thing makes them even more flexible. 

That system can be the manipulator finger that could turn into a curve. And that allows the robot to open doors and drive in the stairwells, use elevators and even use door codes.
