Status-6 or Poseidon or "Kanyon" nuclear torpedo is about 24 meters long, an underwater nuclear torpedo that uses nuclear propulsion. The range of that system is virtually unlimited. And Vladimir Putin says that the "Poseidon" system can carry up to 100 megatons of the hydrogen bomb. There is the possibility that the number of Status-system like "Status-1,2,3..6" means different systems. And the number means the power of the warhead.
That weapon could be used by the Russian navy submarine K-329 "Belgorod". "Belgorod" is the longest submarine in the world. Its roots are in the Oscar II class cruise missile submarine. "Belgorod" can carry ballistic missiles, and the "parasite submarine" makes it capable of multiple missions.
The "Poseidon" torpedo can travel at speed of 100 knots per hour to 1000 meters deep. There is also the possibility that the "Poseidon" type systems can use as midget submarines that can shoot torpedoes and carry special forces teams in underwater missions.
If that 24 meters long torpedo can transform into a 1-2 man underwater fighter that system can be a very big threat to the NATO fleet. That underwater fighter can have a virtually unlimited range. And the same model can use to carry a nuclear warhead.
The "Poseidon" system uses special super cavitation technology called pulse-jet. The problem with propellers is that if their rotating speed turns too high. They will get in the bubble. If there is water that can inject into that bubble it can give the system more power.
Or the system can also change the speed of propellers. When the cavitational bubble is forming. The system can decrease the speed of the propeller. Which removes the cavitational bubble. If developers put it in the tunnel that system is called the pulse jet. The pulse jet system increases that system's stealth capacity.
Is there a manned underwater "fighter" version of "Poseidon" torpedo? And are all "Status" systems the same system at all? If the 100-megaton version of the "Poseidon" torpedo uses two "Tsar Bombs" (RDS-220) that 24-meter torpedo is quite small for that purpose.
There is the possibility that the "Belgorod" and its parasite submarine are armed with nuclear missiles. But when we are looking at the 24-meter "Poseidon" torpedo, there is the possibility that the 100-megaton version of this weapon is different than the 24 meters long torpedo. There is suspicion that the 100-megaton super powerful nuclear torpedo is a remote-controlled submarine-like "Viktor" or "Sierra".
And the 100-megaton nuclear device is hidden in the structures of that submarine. Or maybe the 50-megaton nuclear bombs are connected between those Poseidon torpedoes. The reason for that is that those 50-megaton nuclear bombs are very large. So that super powerful weapon requires some larger carrying vehicle. It's possible. That the parasite submarine of the "Belgorod" can be equipped for that mission.
