Toxic metabolism waste like urea destroys the DNA, especially when it's in the cells. Removing those wastes means that DNA remains in good condition longer time. The thing that causes aging is in the DNA. DNA will never make a perfect copy of itself. The reason for that is that the toxic metabolism waste, with radioactive radiation, causes damage to the DNA. 

One of the biggest problems in Western society is aging. When people turn old, they face things like Alzheimer's and cardiovascular diseases. The DNA and cell reprogramming are interesting things. So diet must not begin just after an unhealthy eating period or it leaves those metabolism productions into the cell. To get the best effect before diet person should eat healthily. A Short and powerful diet just after the Christmas table can cause more damage than benefit. Same way if a person just doesn't eat that thing collects toxic waste into the body.
